Want to run a blog and earn some extra money online? While this is possible (millions of others are doing it as you read this) you shouldn’t expect it to happen overnight, or without a concerted effort on your part.

Just starting out on your Internet Marketing career? I would suggest you set-up your very own Blogger blog, why? Because they are free (always good) and are very easy to add content and monetize.

The very best way (I think) to make money online is by setting up a hosted Wordpress.org blog. It’s widely felt that a hosted blog gets more “respect” from the search engines (you want the search engines to like your blog!!) If you feel you can’t afford the $10.00 it costs for hosting than a Blogger blog or any of the other free platforms is the way to go.

Regardless of which platform you decide to use, the best way to start (I think) is to choose a niche (the subject of your blog) that you have some interest in, or better yet are passionate about. This will make writing content (the hardest part for me) for your new blog much easier. Think about it, if you know your subject matter well you don’t have to do much research (if any), you will be able to just write, and that my friend will make your blogging sooo much easier!

Also in the first stages of choosing your niche you should try to get into your future visitors heads and figure out just what it is you’ll be able to sell to them. You want to make money right? Then as an Internet Marketer and blogger this should be your ultimate goal (and deserves a good deal of thought.)

So you want to work from your home and make some extra money online? There are many ways to accomplish this, but I think starting your own blog is the best way! This way you will have an online presents, and will have to do some writing, (which you had better get used to.)

If you choose a niche you are passionate about some of your readers will share your passion and become part of your community of like minded individuals. Work within this community, build relationships, cause in the end that’s what making money online is all about (to my way of thinking anyways) building relationships, and working with people.

Try to enjoy your time online, don’t get obsessive about it, just keep plugging away at it and in time success will come. Think about starting several blogs in different niches, so all your eggs are not in one basket. Who knows this could very well be the start of something big!
